Latest Update - 01/14/2024

Decided to put another announcement out with the release of this update. This is a major change that I was setting up for with the last update, and I have one last major one in the works now.

This update adds progression to the game which it was very seriously missing. With the addition of the "Meditation Zone", you can now improve or increase things in the game to improve your chances of making through each wave. The things you can improve are:

• Maximum Focus Available - Now you can place more towers and shoot more reliably
• Fire Rate - Reduces the time between shots from the player
• Damage - Increases the amount of damage the player does

With the improvements system added to the game and the ability to set any number of rounds you want, this also now means you can add more towers than the base starting amount I had set to begin with. You'll start with a single basic tower, called the "Goldshot". From there, you can spend Wisdom earned from defeating enemies on adding more towers to your pool.

All of these improvement features have a set wisdom cost that increases as you buy more of them.  So far the only feature with a maximum is fire rate since without it, the game would literally break. Please let me know if the rate is unfair at some point and I will work to adjust it.

There are some other small changes that got fixed with this update that I might as well mention here:

• Game genre was changed from "Action" to "Strategy" to fit with most other Tower Defense games on Itch
• Developer cheat keybindings were removed for things like increasing fire rate and defaulting back to the main screen
• Added the ability to pause in-game so you can step away whenever you need to. The game also auto-pauses when you're improving

I have one last major update coming soon for this project that I think will add to the replayability and general interest. So stay tuned to see what it is.
